Pope Francis called on Catholics around the world to pray the rosary together in order to fight the Chinese coronavirus.
The rosary took place at 4pm ET (U.S.) on Thursday, March 19, the Feast Day of St. Joseph.
“This pandemic is a time for the faithful to come together and work together to stop the spread of the coronavirus,” Pope Francis stated. “We must invoke the protection of our Blessed Mother (Mary) through our thoughts and prayers.”
Democrats and liberal media hosts condemned the Pope for invoking “thoughts and prayers” in the face of a crisis — whether it’s a mass shooting or a pandemic.
“People are dying and Pope Francis encourages people to give their thoughts and prayers,” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said. “The Pope is a fascist employed by the NRA and pharmaceutical corporations.”
Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic in name only (especially when it comes to the lives of unborn children), condemned Pope Francis’ “thoughts and prayers” remark.
“Thoughts and prayers do no good against tragedies,” Pelosi said at a press release. “They are just a means for Pope Francis and Christians to blow off a crisis without taking action and giving more control to the government.”
Pelosi was asked if she is a hypocrite because she said she prays for President Trump, even though she hates him and has constantly tried undermining him and his administration.
“I’m a Catholic. I’ve always prayed for President Trump,” Pelosi said, invoking her Catholic faith when it comes to everything except her pro-abortion stances and expanding taxpayer-funded abortion on regular Americans. “Quite frankly, I find your questions distasteful.
“Yeah, I pray that Trump gets coronavirus and dies,” Pelosi added as she stepped to the side of the mic, which was still on.
