Reflection on the 2020 Republican National Convention

President Donald Trump has officially accepted the GOP nomination for the 2020 Presidential Election.

Trump accepted the nomination during his speech last night, Aug. 27, from the South Lawn at the White House.

His speech marked the conclusion of the 2020 Republican National Convention, which ran from August 24-27.

Like the Democratic National Convention, the RNC has to adapt and change their convention’s setting due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

But unlike the DNC, the focus of this year’s RNC was about everything that makes America great.

It was more upbeat and joyful, standing in stark contrast to the doom and gloom of the 2020 Democratic National Convention a week ago, which portrayed America as an evil and racist country.

The pro-American themes of the 2020 RNC were reflected in each day’s event titles:

RNC Night One: Land of Promise

RNC Night Two: Land of Opportunity

RNC Night Three: Land of Heroes

RNC Night Four: Land of Greatness

Whereas the Democrats had focused on a mostly virtual convention, the Republicans focused a more in-person and active convention.

Many of the RNC speakers spoke either in-person or through virtual pre-recorded messages. And many of the RNC speeches were broadcasted live as they were given.

The full list of 2020 RNC speakers for each night can be found here

There were so many great speakers and speeches from the 2020 RNC that it would be impossible (if not difficult) to write about each one in a single article.

So I will focus on a few of the speeches.

Not only did GOP politicians give speeches at the RNC, but viewers also heard from ordinary Americans give speeches.

Former NFL player Herschel Walker talked about his friendship with President Trump during his speech on Night One of the RNC. They had been good friends for over thirty years. Walker knows Trump’s character and takes it as “a personal insult” that people think Trump is a “racist.”

We heard Nicholas Sandmann talk about the dangers of “cancel culture” and the media’s attacks against President Trump and Trump supporters.

What happened to Sandmann should never have happened to any kid. It could have happened to any one of us—including our future children.

And that’s the scary part.

Debbie Flood, a small business owner, discussed how Joe Biden has hurt American jobs and businesses during her RNC remarks. She also talked about how President has helped business owners like herself by protecting American jobs and businesses. .

The dangers from a Joe Biden presidency will affect small business owners like Flood.

Ann Dorn, the widow of David Dorn, a former black police captain killed by looters on June 2 in St. Louis, recalled the night her husband was killed during her RNC speech yesterday. She put a face to the innocent victims of the violent riots and protests across our country.

We also heard talks from Trump’s family members talk about the President and his accomplishments: President Trump’s sons Eric and Donald Trump, Jr., his daughter-in-law Lara Trump, and his daughters Tiffany and Ivanka Trump

The Republican National Convention also featured strong pro-life and faith leaders who praised Trump’s record of protecting the unborn and condemned Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden and his Vice Presidential pick, Sen. Kamala Harris.

Sister Dede Byrne of the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, during her RNC speech, called Trump “the most pro-life President that this nation has ever had, defending life at all stages.”

Pro-life activist Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood director who converted to the pro-life cause, endorsed President Trump and condemned Planned Parenthood during her remarks at this year’s RNC.

Johnson talked about her experiences of how Planned Parenthood manipulates its employees in order to increase its abortion services, which Johnson claims she was told is how Planned Parenthood “makes [their] money.”

She also described a gruesome abortion procedure she witnessed, which led to her conversion to become a strong pro-life advocate.

Johnson’s story inspired the pro-life film, “Unplanned,” which is based on the book of the same name written by Johnson.

We also saw incredible speeches from First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and President Donald Trump.

The speakers and events of the Republican National Convention highlighted the greatness of America and the Trump presidency – from the U.S. economy (both pre-Covid and rebounding from the pandemic), to foreign policy, to defeating ISIS caliphate, to the promises Trump kept to the American people and to the Trump Administration’s handling of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The list goes on.

The 2020 RNC laid the groundwork for the next four years if Trump wins re-election. It also painted a picture of an America under Joe Biden and his Socialist policies and agenda.

We can expect many more great things to happen if Donald Trump wins re-election on November 3, giving him another four years to make our country safer, stronger and greater than ever before.
