An open letter to President Trump

Dear Mr. President,

To be honest, I'm not sure you'll ever see this letter. You probably get thousands of letters every day, from supporters and obstructionists alike. You probably have an entire staff sorting and reading the letters themselves.

I'm sure you're busy dealing with real-life problems facing our country.

But there is another evil threatening America from within. It is the legalization of the killing of unborn children commonly known as abortion.

This systematic killing of human beings, the most innocent of all humans, is our modern-day version of the slavery that plagued our nation during the 1800s. Then, just as now, half of this country declares that a number of the people living in this country (yes, I believe wholeheartedly in the sanctity of unborn children) are subhuman; they claim these persons have no value, whether it's by their skin color or their circumstances in life.

Planned Parenthood is the greatest offender of unborn human life. Their message of the organization formed by the Socialist Margaret Sanger has always been to terminate innocent human life, whether it was immigrants from Europe, American Catholics, or unborn children. It shouldn't be a surprise that the methods glorified by Sanger—sterilization, contraception, and abortion—were all used by the Nazis during WWII and the Communist regimes that engulfed Europe and Asia.

I'm proud that you signed legislation that defunds Planned Parenthood, preventing them from using American-taxpayer money for abortions through Title X family planning.

You may be aware that the Republic of Ireland has held a referendum yesterday, May 25, about whether to repeal or keep their Eighth Amendment. This pro-life legislation guarantees the equal right to life for both the mother and the unborn child.

Sadly, the people of Ireland voted to repeal the Eighth and open Ireland up to full-scale abortion in what is traditionally a Catholic pro-life country.

Ireland has a lot of problems, but it is still a Roman Catholic nation. Just because a majority decided on one issue doesn’t mean they’re right or that that’s the end of the fight. I just hope the Emerald Isle isn't a Catholic country in name only.

The people of Ireland and the United States deserve the freedom to live and be born. It's a sacred right that deserves to be protected from the government and the courts.

These are some of my ideas I'll share with you to promote the pro-life agenda.

1) Sign a federal pro-life amendment to the Constitution or a similar executive order.

Just recently, Iowa passed their "Heartbeat Bill," signed into law May 4 by Republican Governor Kim Reynolds herself. This bill makes most abortions after the sixth week of pregnancy illegal. It's a model the rest of the country should follow.

Faith and reason tells us that life begins at the moment of conception. Science continues to show us that unborn babies develop all the signs of life while inside the womb. Only abortionists and their supporters deny this truth.

2) Encourage other states to pass and sign legislation similar to Iowa's "Heartbeat Bill."

Iowa’s “Heartbeat Bill” is a model other states should follow when it comes to pro-life laws. People who live in places like Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and even in California and Texas, and other parts of the country deserve to not have their taxpayer dollars go to funding abortion even if they’re against it.

Encourage governors to pass any pro-life legislation that comes to their desk. Their actions will be an example that Americans value the personhood of preborn babies.

3) Give presidential pardons to people (especially young adults) who got arrested for their pro-life stances.

There are plenty of stories of how pro-life supporters were arrested because they chose to peacefully protest outside abortion clinics (including Planned Parenthood) and prevented people from going inside them. They only have criminal records because they couldn't in good conscience condone the killing of unborn children, and they didn't resort to violence to achieve their goal.

These people, mostly college-aged young adults (either in our present day or in the past when they were charged with these crimes), are not violent people. They reach out to these girls at clinics to encourage them to keep their babies.

The exception I would say is that these people were never charged or convicted of other crimes outside their peaceful pro-life protesting or undercover journalism.

David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, pro-life advocates, are two such people. They were charged with 15 felonies by the State of California because they filmed undercover videos of elitist Planned Parenthood executives talking about how Planned Parenthood sells "fetal tissue" from the unborn children they kill through abortion.

What better way to strike an offensive attack against Planned Parenthood than to pardon over a dozen or 200 people and young adults who were found guilty of a crime because they are pro-life, including Daleiden and Merritt?

4) The next time you see Pope Francis, tell him every Irish Catholic who voted against the Eighth Amendment should be excommunicated from the Catholic Church.

"Repealing" Ireland's Eighth Amendment goes against what the Roman Catholic faith stands for because it would in effect expand abortions in the traditionally Roman Catholic nation. Catholics in Ireland and around the world know that abortion is morally wrong, and by supporting the destruction of pro-life legislation they are acting out of line with Church teaching.

5) Condemn any pro-abortion laws the Irish government brings forth, even if it means condemning the Irish people.

I'm proud of my Irish and German heritage. That's why I will not stand by while left-leaning and Socialist forces are pushing their radical anti-life agenda on the Emerald Isle.

St. Patrick fought against the pagan Druids in order to convert Ireland and turn her people towards the Catholic faith. I believe we need more modern-day Saint Patricks in order to stop the pro-abortion forces consuming Ireland today.

That starts by condemning Irish public figures openly supporting "repealing" the Eighth Amendment, including the rock band U2.

Fox News reported on May 25 that Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar is a staunch supporter of "repealing" the Eighth Amendment. Let him know how much the American people hate his abortionist beliefs and won’t tolerate legalized abortion in Ireland and the United States.

6) Cut off all federal funding to Ireland.

Half of all Americans today are pro-life and that number continues to grow. I'm one of them. We don't like our taxpayer dollars going to Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers. Why should our money go to an Ireland openly hostile to protecting unborn children and pushing for more abortion on the Emerald Isle?

Maybe if all foreign aid funding from the U.S. Government will help the Irish people and their government see the light that Americans (including Americans who are of Irish descent) no longer support them until they bring back (or continue to safeguard and protect) their pro-life Eighth Amendment. If not, then at least we give those Irish pro-abortion forces a good kick in the pants.

And most importantly . . .

7) Appoint a strong, pro-life Catholic as the next U.S. Ambassador to Ireland

Does the United States have an ambassador to Ireland? If not, I believe you should nominate a good man or woman who is a strong, pro-life Roman Catholic as the next one.

America has strong Irish and German ties, along with other people whose ancestors immigrated from Europe. If the Irish government plans to pass laws that extend abortions in Ireland, then they're gonna have to deal with a strong pro-life American of Irish descent who actually practices his or her Catholic faith everyday. He/She won't compromise his/her Catholic and American identity and character, especially not with Irish socialists and abortionists.

If Irish Prime Minister Varadkar and his government want to talk with us (and you), they're gonna have to go straight through an American Catholic who doesn’t compromise when it comes to protecting preborn children. Wouldn't that rile up those people pushing their abortion and baby-killing agenda down the throats of the Irish people? And those who voted to "repeal" the Eighth?

As always, continue making American great again.
