Mollie Tibbetts is murdered by an illegal immigrant: Now’s the time for action

In case you haven’t heard about it by now, Mollie Tibbetts’s body was found earlier today.

The 20-year-old University of Iowa student had been missing for over a month after she went jogging at around 7:30pm on July 18 near her hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa.

She never came back home.

Tibbetts’s case sparked national attention and sparked an intensive search. Her family hoped she might still be alive. Her dad pleaded for her safe release. Investigators covered hundreds of “leads” looking for her.

Rivera is the leading suspect in the case. He is charged with first-degree murder in Tibbetts’s death

According to Fox News, investigators used surveillance systems to track Rivera. Video evidence shows Tibbetts jogging in a rural area near Brooklyn, Iowa, as well as Rivera’s car in the same area at the time of her disappearance.

Fox News Anchor Bret Baier and Fox News Correspondent Matt Finn reported that Rivera confessed to killing Tibbetts after he followed her and she threatened to call the police (“Special Report with Bret Baier,” August 21, 2018).

Rivera has been living in the Untied States illegally about four to seven years at the time of Tibbetts’ disappearance.

Now this is still a developing story. More details are going to come forward. New evidence will come to light.

But the fact that an illegal alien is charged in Tibbetts’ killing shows how flawed the immigration and criminal justice systems are in the United States.

The Mollie Tibbetts Case has now become the latest example of illegal immigrants killing American citizens in our own country.

Due to “Catch and Release” policies and “Sanctuary Cities,” local law enforcement officials can’t detail illegal immigrants accused of a crime. These officials also can’t inform federal ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents of when they would release the illegal immigrant criminals.

That is how criminal illegal immigrant Jose Inez Garcia Zarate murdered Kate Steinle. Zarate used a gun he stole to kill Steinle in July 2015 at Pier 14 in San Francisco, California.

San Francisco is one of the biggest “Sanctuary Cities” in the Untied States.

In November 2017, Zarate was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges in Steinle’s death. He was subsequently taken into custody on federal charges by the Justice Department.

These two cases are just a few examples of illegal immigrants killing American citizens, regardless of intent.

The man who killed Steinle had been departed at least ten times and he kept coming back here. He had a criminal record, but the San Francisco authorities, both police and government, did nothing to aid ICE agents in capturing him. And Kate Steinle paid the price.

On March 11, the liberal Denver (Colorado) Police Department released a 26-year-old illegal immigrant who killed a truck driver in a fatal hit-and-run. The man then turned himself over to ICE a week later. The Denver Police, on the other hand, didn’t keep tabs on the illegal immigrant.

There’s nothing wrong with people immigrating to the United States. Most of my ancestors came from Ireland and Germany to escape tyrannical governments and build a new life for themselves in America, where they could be free.

The problem is people can’t come to this country illegally. Regardless of where they come from or what their situation is, they are already breaking our laws.

Rivera doesn’t deserve mercy. He needs to be brought to justice. He must be held without bail and given a life sentence, if not the death penalty.

Americans also must take action to protect themselves, their families, and their country when it comes to securing our borders and upholding the law when people break our laws just to come here.

President Donald Trump and the U.S. Government must complete Trump’s border wall along the Southern Border with Mexico. Physical barriers are there to protect citizens from people who intend to harm them, not to close off other people from coming here.

For example, Israel has a border wall and a missile defense system. They use these tools as means to protect themselves and their country from external threats like Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist organization that fires rockets and other explosives at Israel on a daily basis from inside Gaza.

Back in May, when the U.S. Embassy opened in Jerusalem, thousands of Hamas terrorists and Palestinians tried storming into Israel by force in order to protest the embassy move, resulting in dozens of Palestinian deaths.

If left unchecked, the Southern Border will continue to draw criminals trying to sneak into the Untied States by taking advantage of our broken immigration system.

A solution to the U.S. immigration debate is a merit-system. The people already here illegally can serve in the Armed Forces for a set number of years in order to gain citizenship for themselves and their immediate family members (i.e., kids, spouse). In this process, they can also learn valuable skills in order to grow and contribute more as legal citizens.

No matter what reforms come to our immigration policies, state governments have to enforce border security and work with the Trump Administration to carry out our immigration laws. They can continue to keep National Guard troops and the military along the Southern Border to help Border Patrol agents cover every inch of ground and keep the United States free and safe.

State and federal law enforcement must also work together to arrest criminal illegal immigrants. They need to make sure that these criminals are brought to justice and no longer roam freely on the streets. State and local governments shouldn't impede them by shielding criminal illegal immigrants. After all, there is no "get out of jail free card" like in Monopoly.

As Americans, we can’t support politicians and people who call for open borders and an end to immigration enforcement. They are the enablers of illegal immigration, and they don’t care about actual American citizens.

People like Mollie Tibbetts and Kate Steinle deserve justice, along with every other American citizen who has lost a family member due to an illegal immigrant.
