A response to President Trump’s Oval Office Address
Last night, January 8, President Donald Trump delivered his first Oval Office Address to the American people.
In his
speech, Trump outlined
the humanitarian and border security crisis on the U.S. Southern Border
with Mexico. Not only did he explain the economic cost of not having a wall on
our border, he explained the human cost as well for both American citizens and
the people making the trek to enter the United States illegally.
Shortly after Trump’s address, Democrat leaders House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer gave their rebuttal, claiming Trump was lying throughout his speech.
Shortly after Trump’s address, Democrat leaders House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer gave their rebuttal, claiming Trump was lying throughout his speech.
That is a lie.
Trump discussed
the facts about the border security crisis facing the United States and the American
people. Women
and children are harmed traveling to the United States illegally. Illegal
immigration drives down jobs and wages for American workers, especially among
African Americans and Mexicans in the United States.
So what does it mean if Congress
and the Senate approved the $5.7 billion Trump demands for border security and
a wall?
At the
start of “The Story with Martha MacCallum” that aired yesterday, January 8, a
graph showed that the U.S. federal budget is at $4.4 trillion. That is a lot of
money, and it is a shame it is even that high in the first place.
As the graph showed, while the $5.7 billion Trump demands for a border wall is a lot of many as well, it is less than one percent of the federal budget.
Yet the Democrats were willing to pass a bill that gave over $12 billion in aid to foreign countries.
Where does that money come from?
Clearly, the Democrats are more interested in helping foreigners than normal American citizens.

Again, where is that money coming from?
It comes from American taxpayers. Elitist politicians like
Democrats and establishment Republicans like taxing us for programs doomed to
fail. ObamaCare failed, and we suffered for it.
Do Democrats honestly believe their so-called “Green New
Deal” would be any better? It would rises taxes for rich and poor alike and
raise the federal debt into hundreds of trillions of dollars by forcing every
American to stop using electricity and fossil fuels.
It wouldn’t surprise me if millions of Americans refuse to
comply with the “Green new Deal” i
The $5.7 billion for border security isn’t just going
towards a wall. It is for hiring more Border Patrol agents so that every mile
of the Southern Border is manned. It also goes toward new technology for
surveillance and to detect drugs crossing the border.
President Trump is determined to combat illegal immigration
and the drugs pouring into the United States like heroin and cocaine. He is
working to build a wall, a promise he ran on as a candidate back in 2016. He is
doing the right thing by not giving in to the Democrats’ demands to stop
pushing for a border wall.
This partial government shutdown is Trump’s only chance to
secure border wall funding
He needs us, the American people, to support him and take
action to stop the crisis at our border, which has affected every part of our
country.
