(Parody) Former Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey sues NFL in defamation suit
Disgraced Chicago
Bears kicker Cody Parkey is suing the NFL and the Chicago Bears for
discrimination.
Parkey missed a game-winning field goal after getting iced by Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Doug Peterson during the Bears-Eagles Wild Card Game on January 6, 2019.

The Bears lost
16-15.
Since then, Parkey has been cut by the Bears organization and hasn’t found a team willing to take him.
“Sure I know I’m not a good football player anymore, but that doesn’t mean NFL teams can’t hire me,” Parkey said at a news conference after clearing out his locker at Soldier Field. “I deserve to make millions of dollars just by making a fool of myself hitting the uprights.”
Parkey filed the defamation suit nearly two months after his last game in a Bears jersey. In the suit, he claims that the McCaskey Family (owners of the Chicago Bears) and other NFL owners and coaches conspired to not sign him.
Specifically, Parkey named Eagles Head Coach Doug Peterson as a co-defendant in the suit, claiming Peterson conspired to destroy his confidence and playing skill after calling a timeout before Parkey made a successful field goal.
“I made the first field goal attempt on the last drive of the game,” Parkey said. “It would have been good if [Coach] Peterson hadn’t iced me. Then I miss the second attempt and now I’m the most hated guy in Chicago.
“Coach Peterson is responsible for ruining my career and I’ll make him pay for it,” Parkey added.
It’s unclear if the NFL will settle with Parkey outside of court, especially after giving anti-American quarterback Colin Kaepernick over $21 million in damages.

Parkey is just one of dozens of
ex-NFL players suing the league because no team will has offered them
contracts, claiming that NFL owners are conspiring against them.
