After faking a hate crime and getting all 16 charges against him dropped, Jussie Smollett is now getting back to his acting career.
That is, his acting outside of CNN and MSNBC cameras.
Smollett is set to star in the title role in the new film “The Little Boy who cried Wolf.” The film is a modern-day take on the classic fairy tale.
“Jussie Smollett is just the man we want in this movie,” the director said to reporters at a press conference announcing the new hire. “He was such a good actor that he actually made half this country believe he was attacked by two Trump supporters in the middle of a liberal Chicago street in the midst of a polar vortex. There’s no one else we’d rather have play a liar other than Mr. Smollett.”
Smollett was facing 16 charges after a grand jury indicted him on all 16 of them, including lying to police and faking his own hate crime.
The black and openly gay actor claimed that two white men wearing MAGA hats attacked him back in January. The story quickly unfolded and the Chicago Police Department discovered that Smollett had actually paid his two “attackers” — revealed to be two black Nigerian brothers who worked on the set of Smollett’s show, “Empire” — of staging the attack on him.
Then this week, those charges against Smollett were dropped by the Cook County (Chicago) District Attorney’s office, leading the Chicago Police Union to suspect a cover up.
“We put in a lot of hours and manpower into investigating Smollett’s accusations, and then when we discovered it was a fake attack we immediately dedicated countless man hours and manpower to have Smollett charged and arrested,” the President of the Chicago Police Union said shortly after Smollett was given a get out of jail free card by the city’s liberal elites. “This is a disgrace to the police and the entire city of Chicago.”
Police officers across the country are calling for a boycott of Smollett’s new film in a show of support against him.
However, at publishing time, it was reported that “Little Boy who cried Wolf” has been canceled because Smollett claimed a white wolf wearing a MAGA hat and a Kanye West T-shirt had just attacked him on the set.
Smollett was then arrested and sent to jail for making false statements to police.
