That’s how Utah Senator Mike Lee (Republican) describes the Green New Deal.
During deliberations this week when the U.S. Senate voted 57-0 against the Green New Deal, Senator Lee used a poster of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” to illustrate what the Green New Deal actually is.
“Like this poster here, the Green New Deal is meant to built up your hopes and dreams that everything in it is gonna be great,” Senator Lee said on the senate floor during his allotted debate time, motioning to the “Last Jedi” poster. “It may look awesome, but once you slog through it you realize it’s the worst deal ever to hit the big screen or the Senate floor,” he added.
Lee was joined by the other Republican Senators in striking down the Green New Deal, along with four Democrats (because there are no such thing as Independent senators).
Surprisingly, 2020 Democrat Presidential candidates — including Democrat Senators Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, and Kirsten Gillibrand — voted “no” or “present” during the Green New Deal vote, despite pleading to push the Green New Deal through and pass it if they win in 2020.
“Sure I like ‘The Last Jedi’ and the Green New Deal, but once it boils down to it, I can’t support it or condemn it,” Booker said. “I like having it both ways and making conservatives and liberals angry.”
Booker said he thinks the same thing about the SJWs ruining Star Wars movies and real Star Wars fans.
Actor Mark Hamill, who played the iconic role of Luke Skywalker throughout the Star Wars franchise, immediately condemned Lee’s use of the poster to promote conservatives.
Hamill then retreated to his private island where he drank green milk and ate roasted Porg, abandoning everyone who depended on him.
