Focus on the Family announced they are making a live-action film reboot of the “Last Chance Detectives” series.

“We are pleased to let your adulthood be visited by updated versions of your childhood classics,” focus on the family spokesman Benny Bakerson said.

The new film is set ten years after the last TV movie in the series, “Escape from Fire Lake.”

Christina actor Kirk Cameron was cast as a young adult version Mike Fowler, with Cameron reported being digitally altered (with the use of CGI) so that he looks like he’s 24 years old.

“We wanted to make sure we got the best quality casting choices, so we went with Cameron in the lead role,” Bakerson said. “We believe he’s the go-to guy for We’re confident he won’t suck more than usual.”

Actor Kevin Sorbo landed the coveted role of Mike Fowler’s dad, John, who was reportedly “missing in action” throughout the entire three episode-long series from your childhood.

“Nothing says a good quality film project like having Kevin Sorbo in the cast,” Cameron said when asked about what it’s like filming with the “Hercules” TV star.

Moviegoers need not worry as Focus on the Family announced the reboot film will still lack the quality filmmaking, acting, and screenplay writing of regular Hollywood film production movies (and that of independent short film projects), which is typical of Christian movies.
