Star Wars Week has come to a close.

Beginning on May 4, “Star Wars Day,” this week-long celebration focused on the “Star Wars” media franchise.

President Donald Trump weighed in on “Star Wars.”

“The Star Wars Original Trilogy is the greatest trilogy ever,” Trump wrote on Twitter on Saturday, May 9. “It has great characters, a great story and great space battles.”

Trump was referring to Star Wars Episodes IV-VI — “A New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Best” and “Return of the Jedi.”

“The Original Trilogy is way better than the Sequel Trilogy,” Trump continued in the tweet. “Disney ruined the original characters and story. They had no plan whatsoever.”

The Sequel Trilogy takes place 30 years after the Star Wars Original Trilogy. It is made up of Episodes VII-IX — “The Force Awakens,” “The Last Jedi” and “The Rise of a Skywalker.”

Trump’s tweet has been shared on Facebook and other social media sites, drawing positive reactions from conservatives and negative reactions from liberals.

“President Trump has time to write a thirty-second tweet when he should be working tirelessly to lead our country during this [coronavirus] pandemic,” Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said from her mansion in San Francisco. “People are dying and yet he’s not doing his job.”

Pelosi has repeatedly delayed bringing Congress back into session during the coronavirus pandemic, as well as delayed votes on stimulus bills aimed to help regular Americans.

“President Trump is right about ‘Star Wars,’” conservative David Walker said. “He’s saying what every ‘Star Wars’ fan knows. Disney ruined ‘Star Wars’ and divided the fan base. They deserve to be called out for the way they treated Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and the Rebel Alliance.”

The Rebel Alliance went on to defeat the Galactic Empire and become the New Republic in “Star Wars” lore.

“Star Wars” fans have been divided since the release of Director Rian Johnson’s “The Last Jedi (2017)” and remakes made by Disney/LucasFilm leadership (including Johnson, Director J.J. Abrams, and LucasFilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy) calling people who hated the “Sequel Trilogy” sexist.

“Thank God we can ignite the Disney Star Wars Trilogy and keep the Str Wars story intact,” Walker said.

Trump’s support among Star Wars fans rose to an unprecedented 98%.
