Liberals condemn President Trump for going to a church and doing his job
Democrats and liberals are angry President Donald Trump invoked the Christian faith and went to a church damaged by rioters.
On Monday, June 1, President Trump gave a statement in the Rose Garden at the White House, where he talked about restoring law and order in the United States in the wake of violent riots and protests taking over the peaceful George Floyd protests throughout the country.
In his address to the nation, President Trump announced that he is mobilizing federal resources to combat the violent riots and looting that has gripped our nation.
At around 7pm Eastern Time, President Trump then walked across the street from the White House lawn over to Lafayette Square and St. John’s Episcopal Church, which is also called the “President's Church.”
Rioters had burned St. John’s interior the night before the President’s speech.
The liberal backlash came as President Trump stood outside the damaged church and held a Bible in his hand.
Liberals and Democrats attacked the President’s actions, claiming Trump used his speech in front of St. John’s as a “photo-op” and that “peaceful” protesters were dispersed from the area outside the White House with force.
They ignored the fact that Washington, D.C. had a 7pm curfew in effect and that law enforcement were enforcing that curfew.
We’ve seen on the news that a lot of people and rioters ignore curfews and remain on the streets, so the law enforcement agents were justified. This has happened in cities like New York City and other parts of the country.
By attacking President Trump’s decision to visit St. John’s and law enforcement officials for dispersing the crowds, the Democrat ignore the fact that violent protests took place outside the White House over the weekend of May 29-31, the same area Trump walked through on his way to St. John’s.
At least 60 U.S. Secret Service agents were injured in violent clashes with protesters outside the White House on the night of Saturday, May 30, into the morning of Sunday, May 31.
Law enforcement officials were justified in dispersing the crowds from the area around the White House Before President Trump made his way to St. John’s Church. They were enforcing the 7pm curfew that was in effect and making sure the protests didn’t become violent, especially given the previous violent protests that took place outside the White House before.
The Secret Service has also tightened security around the White House on Tuesday, June 2, as a result of the protests.
There is nothing wrong with people peacefully protesting. It’s one of our rights as American citizens that’s protecting by the First Amendment.
But when people or groups like AntiFa systematically coordinate violent riots and hijack the peaceful protesters, then President Trump and our local and state leaders (including the governors) need to take action and restore law and order against the violence sweeping across our country. That includes showing strength and good leadership, as well as mobilizing the National Guard to support law enforcement and protect regular Americans and small businesses from rioters and looters.
Even the Catholic Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Washington, D.C., condemned President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for visiting the John Paul II National Shrine in D.C., claiming it was “baffling and reprehensible” that a “Catholic facility” would welcome Trump for a visit.
In short, Archbishop Gregory believes Trump is spreading racism and discrimination in the United States and shouldn’t be allowed to visit Catholic holy sites or places of worship. His anti-Trump statements reveal he doesn’t care about respecting President Trump as a person or those who support Trump, including Catholics.
Everything Trump says and does is going to be attacked by liberals and Democrats, including his speech in front of St. John’s and his efforts to restore law and order in the United States. They have been doing this for the last four years and they aren’t going to stop now.
President Trump is the law and order President and candidate. He is trying to combat the violent riots and looting and help the states and local communities fight back against the violence. He is the candidate who will rebuild our country and restore order.
