The Democratic National Committee announced virtual “delegates” will attend the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee.

The Democratic leaders got the idea after Fox Sports used virtual “fans” in stands in order to get a sense of “normalcy” at MLB games during Opening Week last week.

The cameras showed the computer-generated fans during the broadcast of baseball games on Fox to give the appearance of packed stadiums, even though the stadiums were empty except for the teams and team personnel.

Cutaway shots revealed the empty seats in the stadiums.

“We wanted to maintain a sense of normalcy in these hard times caused by Trump and his virus,” DNC Chair Tim Perez said, claiming Trump for the Coronavirus, “so the best thing is to show CGI delegates attending our convention.

“They are more life-like than if we had actual delegates attending the event,” he added.

At publishing time, late-night comedy hosts announced they will also start using virtual “audiences,” complete with laugh tracks and clapping tracks.

“No more filming shows while I’m naked in the bathtub,” comedian Stephen Colbert told CNN, who was revealed to not be funny after he (Colbert) filmed his show as he took a bath during the Coronavirus lockdown. “Now I’ll just look out at the empty seats and imagine people laughing at my jokes.

“So what if people say I’m not funny and think I’m a bitter, angry man?” Jimmy Kimmel told ABC News. “They’ll see I have plenty of fans, even if they aren’t real fans.”
