Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Episode Eight review

Some battles are unavoidable. Such is the case between Crosshair and the Bad Batch. In Episode Eight, “Reunion,” the Bad Batch face off against Crosshair and his Imperial Special Forces troops. After successfully removing their inhibitor chips, Hunter and the others find themselves trapped on the junkyard planet, Bracca. It was clear Crosshair was gonna be a major threat after he turned against his Bad Batch Clone brothers back in Episode One. Now, this fight has finally come around. No matter how hard Hunter and his friends try, they were always gonna have to face Crosshair — either to save him by removing his inhibitor chip, or when the Empire sent Crosshair after him. Admiral Rampart orders Crosshair to kill them. Hunter wants to stay on Bracca in order to salvage what the Bad Batch can from the armories on the old Republic ships, along with the ships’ intel on the bridge (as Tech points out). He knows that he and his friends will need money if they’re able to survive. As Hunter mak...

Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Episode Seven review

Sometimes hard work doesn’t pay off. That’s what the Bad Batch find out. In Episode Seven, “Battle Scars,” the Bad Batch continues working for Sid, but she continues to take more than she gives them. This arrangement comes as she adds “expenses” to the Bad Batch, kind of like how the Federal government and workers’ unions take away workers’ hard-earned wages through taxes and union fees. Hunter and the gang are going to need a big payday in order to square things with Sid, especially after failing to get the Tactical Droid’s head in the last episode. But it isn’t all bad news. The Bad Batch run into an old friend from the Clone Wars: Captain Rex, Echo’s former commander. Captain Rex was a prominent character on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” Following the events of “Clone Wars: Season Seven,” Rex has maintained a low profile. It helps that the Empire believes he was killed in action. Rex reveals that Rafa and Trace Martez informed him about the Bad Batch, and so he tracked the team down....

Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Episode Six review

As the old saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.” In Episode Six, “Decommissioned,” the Bad Batch teach Omega how to fire her now blaster bow (which is designed like a bow and arrow), which she acquired in the last episode. This training is to help Omega grow in her skills. Anyone who pursues something in life has to practice and grow, becoming more consistent and develop perseverance. And unlike Tony Stark in “Iron Man (2007),” not everyone can “run before you can walk.” After all, Tom Brady and Michael Jordan didn’t become the “greatest of all time” on Day One. They had to spend years training and practicing. Even Luke Skywalker in the Original Star Wars Trilogy needed weeks (or months) of training with Yoda before he could become a Jedi Knight. Besides, the military doesn’t throw raw and untrained men and women into combat. They require training and skill, or else they would become easy casualties. The Bad Batch want Omega to have the skills and strength to defend herself and hold h...

Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Episode Five review

There’s no peace or quiet when there’s a price on your head. That’s what Din Djarin found out in “The Mandalorian,” and it’s what the Bad Batch knows. In Episode Five, “Rampage,” the Bad Batch investigate why the bounty hunter, Fennec Shand, is after Omega. Hunter and his team can’t carry out their plan to lay low until they understand what’s going on. They need answers to why Omega is important. Hoping to find answers, the Bad Batch heads out to find an informant named Sid. Sid’s business has declined since the Empire took control, leaving her with less profit. As such, Sid and the Bad Batch engage in an actual quid pro quo: she’ll help them get information about who hired Fennec if they do a job for her. Sid wants the Bad Batch to rescue a child named Muchi who is being held captive by slave traders so that they can split the bounty on the kid’s head. This is the first time Omega has heard about slavery: the selling of people for credits. It doesn’t sit right with her. The rescue mis...
