(Parody) Brie Larson snubbed in 2020 Oscar Nominations, claims sexism to blame

Oscar season is upon us!
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for the 2020 Oscars earlier today.
2019’s “Joker” and “Once Upon a
Time…in Hollywood” are strong contenders, with “Joker” earning 11 nominations
including Best Actor (Joaquin Phoenix) and Best Picture.
One contender snubbed
this Oscars season is Brie Larson’s portrayal of Captain Marvel in “Avengers:
Endgame (2019).”
The Marvel actress’
name was absent from the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories
for the 2020 Oscars.
Larson’s reasoning behind the Oscars snub: Sexism.
Larson’s reasoning behind the Oscars snub: Sexism.
“There are too many sexists in Hollywood. That’s why they won’t nominate me,” Larson said to reporters. “If a man were a superhero, they wouldn’t be in this position. They’d win an Oscar every year.”
An ABC reporter then pointed out to Larson that Robert Downey, Jr., who plays Iron Man in the MCU films, has never been nominated in the Best Actor category for his portrayal of the iconic superhero, including the 2020 Oscars.
“Oppressive, oppression, I’m being oppressed!” Larson said, screaming at the top of her lungs.
The ABC reporter was fired at the “request” of Disney CEO Bob Iger, whose company owns ABC.
“We will not tolerate anyone using his or her gender to oppress women, especially Brie Larson,” Iger said. “We’re very tolerant here at the House of Mouse. I mean, it’s not like we would use our power and influence to threaten the Boy Scouts or ruin ‘Star Wars,’ right?”
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who tweeted his support for Larson on Twitter, issued.
“Scarlett Johansson was also snubbed
by the Oscars,” Feige said. “She deserves an Oscar win for playing Black
Widow.”
The Oscars have come under fire in
recent years for anti-comic book movie bias. Most notably, Thanos
was snubbed at last year’s Oscars for his portrayal in “Avengers: Infinity
War (2018).”
Larson insisted that the Academy
should add her to the Best Actress category in order to appease her anger.
“I was on screen for
like, what, six minutes in ‘Endgame,’” Larson told reporters. “I’m the most
powerful superhero ever. I can fly and shoot bolts of energy from my hands. I
am invincible.”
Larson then punched one of her bodyguards in the chest, trying to show off her energy powers.
However, since Larson is a normal human being like everyone else and not an all-powerful superhero, her punch had no effect on the big man.
“I gave the Academy the best six minutes of my onscreen career,” Larson added, trying to ignore the pain in her hand as she shakes it. “I deserve recognition for my accomplishments.”
At publishing time,
most everyday Americans agree they will ignore the politically-charged Oscars
and instead do whatever they want to do on Oscars Night (except watch the
Oscars).
